wapiti2225-06 or 257 Weatherby?
I have a short-chambered barrel in 25-06 that I had planned to put on a Mauser action. I'm now thinking I would rather have a 257 WBY mag. Is it possible to change from a 25-06 chamber to a 257 WBY and how difficult is it?

ramrod340Other than needing to convert the bolt face you might have an issue with the 257Wby having a .285 neck OD and the 25-06 has .290. Besides if the barrel is not at least 26" I wouldn't bother.

WestpacSure. It should be a fairly simple transition.

wapiti22so is it as simple as using a 257 finishing reamer? It's a Shilen barrel

Yep Should be that and alter the bolt face.
You might be able to see a ring on the 257 neck caused by the 06 necking be larger. Total difference is about a sheet of copy paper.
