anybody know offhand, if a fluted, 30-378 Weatherby Accumark takeoff barrel, can be rebored to 416?

or who you'd suggest I check with?

thanks.

Only the 460 uses a number 4 contour barrel... I don't know if the fluting of a number 3 would keep you from being able to rebore to 416.. The 416s are in number 3 contour but they aren't fluted... Hopefully someone's done a fluted barrel in a big bore that can answer this with experience...

Ken...

You'll need to give the reborer an accurate measurment of the diameter from the bottom of the flutes. If one will do it, it still sounds like you'll have an awfully light 416 unless you plan on a muzzle break.

I planned on keeping the brake on it.

I'll measure everything up and make some calls.

thanks.
