I'd love to hear any member comments from any shows they attend this winter. Reports on the usual suspects (GMA, Satterlee, Empire, CZ) would be good! I"d also love to hear about any other unteresting stories/observations etc. BTW, does anyone know what happened to Waffenfabrik Hein?

I hear Waffenfabrik Hein is still around, but down to a one man operation.

Too much?

Karl quoted me a price on a .300 H&H a few years ago and I thought it was an amazing deal on a full custom rifle. Seeing how things have turned out, I'm glad I didn't do it though.

Greg Hein was always a one man operation. Karl just worked the phone.
Between moving to a bigger building, setting up a new cnc mill and being down with a bad back for a few months things slowed down.
If you ever cycled one of his actions you would know why things take so long.
There's a difference between a gunmaker and a gunsmith.
Greg Hein is a gunmaker.

It wasn't always' a one man operation. They even employed a fulltime stockmaker at one time.
