Who wants a contest?
How about some photo submissions to freshen up the photo on the opening page of the gunsmithing forum?

It would need to be re-sized, but I like this photo of our Scholarship Rifle being built...

Anyone else care to share a good gunsmithing photo? We've had quite a few good ones posted here lately.

With all due respect:

While that is a great photo, it only shows the wood and not the metal, and it does not show action. Gunsmithing is the action of doing something to raw materials to make a desireable and functional tool.

I think this photo just about says it all.

I like the old photograph of Al Linden whittling a blank with a hatchet but can't find it, maybe Michael Petrov has it.

22WRF,

Great photo!!! The bandaid on the cracked and stained fingers is the finishing touch that puts it over the top. It says, "this is a real craftsman!" The anitque spoke shave is a nice touch as well.

Of course that is not my photo. That is Mr. Wiebe's photo of himself working on the Scholarship Rifle.

A old Linden photo would be great. Or how about some of Rem721's work?

Something from the late Tom Burgess would be expecially appropriate.

You know, you complain about Rem 721's posts but you seem to stir the shit rather well yourself.

I'm told it's for a custom side mount. I'll Let Rem 721 fill in the details. I'm sure the cavalry will arrive shortly.

I like Forrest's picture a lot.

If you want something vintage, then I am sure no one has more pictures than Mike Petrov. No telling what vintage gunmaking pics he has-Linden, G&H, Owen, who knows. I imagine he is still in Reno, so hopefully we could wait a few days to pick the pic.

I did not go to Reno. If you want to go vintage you guys decide what you want and I'll see what I have. I should have pictures of all the major pre-war makers.

No I wasn't.I just want to see something that looks REALLY nice.Is that too much to ask from you guys? I would suggest a Hagn single shot rifle(steal the show and save the day).Like Kovalev(my hero) and his last two shootout goals!

Here's the deal. Either take a picture now "with permission" or use a picture of a dead guy, taken by a dead guy.

I've always liked this photo from Stephen R. Heilmanns web site. It's large so I'll just post a link. I'm sure most have seen it.
