How do the 1940 & earlier FN made M98, Military style action (the large ring with charger hump, clip slot, thumb cut & flag safety) used by Husqvarna, compare to a VZ24 or 1909 Argentine or other "good" Military or other true or commercial mauser? Not the commercial FN action that Husqvarna used slightly later. The ones I have coming were made in 1939 & 1940. Do the Military style FN M98 actions have the same contours and features as a VZ24, 1909 Argentine or Commercial M98? Allen It's a Mauser thing, you wouldn't understand.

Let's just say they are exactly like the Belgian FN model 1935. Features are the same as the vz24; contours as close as two different models made by different manufacturers can be. Coincidentally, I just took delivery of a Belgian 1935 last night. Aut vincere aut mori

Thanks Mike, I have two M146 rifles and one barreled action (M98 actions) in 9.3x57 that should be here Wed. or Thur. next week. One other question, are the receivers notched for the bolt handle or strait at the root then bent, like a 1909 Argentine carbine? I realize I will be able to answer these questions for myself next week, but I have a hard time waiting, jeeze, I'm worse than a kid! Allen It's a Mauser thing, you wouldn't understand.

The receiver is not notched. The root is straight then the handle bends over. You will enjoy the 146's. Are you having them rechambered? I just completed rechambering a pair of M146's to 9,3x62. Aut vincere aut mori
