Just Curious How many others are waiting for a Montana 1999 action. I bought a SA SS 1999 Magnum booltface a couple of years ago. I ordered it and it was delivered in a couple of weeks. I have had one in SS LA magnum bolt face on order since December 4, 2007. I have been given a different excuse, every time I call. It has been long enough that I have received both the Krieger barrel and McMillian stock and had them for over a month now.

I ordered my stainless long action magnum under the charter program on April 23, 2003. I got it on November 15, 2004. My gunsmith delivered the rifle on October 22, 2005. It took almost exactly 2-1/2 years to the day from the notion to order the action to the finished rifle in my greasy, sweaty palms. It took so long and I heard so many excuses along the way that by the time I actually got it, I felt I had won some kind of "war" of waiting. My next one will be on a Barney Lawton 7500. He says he can deliver in 90 days...

I got an e-mail back from Jeff Sipe yesterday, stating the RH, SS, LA, MB, Montana 1999 that I ordered on December 4, 2007 will be shipped tomorrow (June 5,2008). I am waithing on an e-mail confirmation and UPS tracking number.

It took 3 weeks for them to deliver the first action I ordered from them. Devin said the fit and finish on this new action will be better than the last.

I spoke with Bob Visch today at Montana and my two PH actions are supposed to be on their way the third week of July! I hope so, my credit card has already been charged for them. These were part of the charter order that has been in the works for about two years now.

End of Jan 08 I ordered two stainless lefties. One was for the 06 bolt face and the other was for the long magnums.
Both were at my dealers within approximately 2 weeks.

Good luck with the Lawton, anyone can SAY they can deliver in 90 days.

I ordered a LH LA SS barreled action at the beginning of March of this year, received it the last week of May. Right at 90 days. Jeff was very responsive to all my emails and kept me updated on the status.

The Montana 1999 SS RH LA MB ordered on December 4, 2007 arrived on June 13,2008.

After examining it I found the fit and finish to be about the same as the one I purchased two years ago.

I can see about two hours of work on the safety. The bolt shroud will take an hour of polishing. The bolt races will need lapping to smooth up. I will have to check the extractor the one on the previous action required opening up so that it would slip over a chambered case.

The trigger will require adjustment. It came with about 12 pound pull and a lot of creep.

I would love to hear from a customer who bought one of their finished rifles. I would like to know how well they finish them.

The fit and finish of my barreled action must have been better than most since I had Jim Debell of Delta Gunworks finish all of the part and hone the rough spots and the whole barreled action took no more than two hours. I am still amazed at teh gun when it comes out of the locker.
