Someone walked off with my only small ball paen hammer. Ordered two new one's from MSC; a 6oz. "Plumb" and a 8oz. "Stanley". The "Plumb" is made in China and the "Stanley" in Mexico! The faces on them are not flat, the paen's are not round, the handles are poorly finished and covered with "warning" and "how to use" stickers. Take good care of your old, REAL, American tools!

yard sales swap meets and ebay man, that's about it for a lot of that stuff. even vaughn hammers which I happen to like have the damn warning on the handle. I think we need to pass a law against suing companies because you were stupid and then we don't need all these stickers ruining our nice tools.

"how to use" stikers?

Does it say you must pass a state exam and get certification and a licence to operate it?

are you s*&#ing me? only california is afflicted with this? the hammers have little stickers showing a pair of goggles and the warning to always wear eye-protection when using. that's one version, I've seen lots of stuff. some of the warning/instruction stickers make you just wonder if somebody is stupid enough to need that maybe they should just be sent off to an island where they can infect our gene pool.

I've got a tube of Surgical lube that say's "Not for use in eye's or ears". I asked the lady at the counter if they had problems with people doing that. I told her I've considered using the stuff on sandwiches with peanut butter, but would never consider putting it in my eye's or ears. She just stood there and looked at me. Big Grin

There was just last week an article that vise grip is closing their Nebraska plant, that has made vise grip pliers for 74 or so years, and moving production to china. So looks like no more vise grips for me.

Vise Grip is owned by Irwin tools, FYI.
