Having stripped many stocks, I have an assortment of various strippers, however, none seem to work well on the cataytic lacquer finishes. I believe Browning and some Remingtons (and perhaps others) use this finish. Any help would be greatly appreciated and help save a lot of sandpaper and my arm. Thanks Ed Kay

Ever use a product called Zip Strip? Work ok for us. Get it at the paint store. Used it on Rem 700. Hope it works for you.

I don't mess with the goop, I just use a sharp stripping knife that I made and a old hacksaw blade gound square on the edges and scrape the stock finish off and then sand it...Its faster. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes. ------------------

Thanks, Harry. I have used Zip Strip, but tried it again and let it work a lot longer this time. Longer time sure made a difference. Finished up with Rays sugestion for scrapers. I'm now working on a stripping tank as I sometimes may have 3 or 4 stocks at a time to refinish. Thanks again. Ed
