A friend bought his daughter a Beretta Silver Pigeon. He has subsequently heard of a law suit over a Beretta barrel blowing up. He has asked if there are any known issues as he is concerned about his daughters safety. I have heard of none. Anybody else?

There aren't any issues with Beretta barrels. Someone probably had a bore obstruction and wont admit it.

I've never heard of anything with their barrels either. Is it possible it's the Sako barrel thing from years ago he means?

I have utmost confidence in Beretta, know many people who shoot Siler Pigeaon shotguns and have never heard of any safety issues.

Not shotguns, but there was an issue with some Sako and Tikka rifle barrels blowing. There was a recall by Beretta USA.

I own 2 Silver Pigeon IIs and a Silver Pigeon I and this is the first time I have heard of barrel problems. I can only say I haven't had any issues with steel shot or lead shot. I honestly don't think it's an issue.

Wrong grade of materials used to make the barrels. When they did fail, it was spectacular, they would split open, and sometimes peal back. Shooters were sometimes injured.

I shoot Sporting Clays and Skeet with my Silver Pigeon, along with several other Beretta shooters. If you know anything about shooters like this you know we shoot a LOT. No problems.
