I bought this 1950s magnum action which has been rechambered and rebarrelled (and restocked) to 416 Rem. If one cartridege is put in the magazine, it feeds, fires and ejects fine. When I try to put two in, the 2nd is stuck with the end lower and it will not feed. Any ideas/suggestions much appreciated.

My guess, Bill is that the 416 has a different shaped cartridge than the original chambering and the slight differences have caused the feeding to go astray. I suspect any competent M70 gunsmith could identify the issue precisely and take care of it for you. My .02 cents. Jeff

the H&H caliber pre-64 magazine boxes and followers were designed to exactly fit the tapered 300 H&H and 375 H&H cartridges. In my expereince, straight sided cases like 300 Wby and similar will not 'stack' correctly and the front of the cases will be jammed tightly. They will feed but poorly, because the bullet tip will be much lower than it would be if the case was a tapered H&H.

Check with DUane Weibe, he has a box that will work. Jim Kobe 10841 Oxborough Ave So Bloomington MN 55437 952.884.6031 Professional member American Custom Gunmakers Guild
