Are Lyman 48's and 57's interchangeable in terms of screw hole spacing? Have a Lyman 57 on M98 Mauser, want to upgrade to a 48. Thanks

Don’t know about the Mauser, but the hole spacing on the 48 and 57 for a 1903 Springfield are the same...but the placement of the holes on the bases are different, and the 57 has a narrower base. If you try to screw a 48 base into the existing holes for the 57 the base will be slightly farther to the rear and it might not clear the root of the bolt.
