recoil pad weight
Anyone know the actual weights of lightweight recoil pads. I am finishing an MPI kevlar stock and the sorbathane Kick-Eez pad weighs 5 ounces. Any lighter alternatives? Thanks.

I remember once reading a Brown Precision catalog that that they make a 1/2 inch lightweight pad. Not exactly sure of the exact weight.

The Brown Precision is an open cell foam pad. Very light, but not very durable, and just about worthless for absorbing recoil.

Hogue recoil pads don't (or at least didn't) have a metal plate in them and were a bit lighter than some others. I don't recall the exact weight savings, but used to use them on some light weight builds to shave a little weight.

Try the pachmeyer decelerator. (spelling) Mostly air. Seems lighter than the previous although I dont know the exact weight.

I just weighed a decelerator pad that was trimmed down to fit a stock and it weighed 4 ounces.
