Hello, i have a Mauser 66 270, and i wondered its possible to create your own calibres by ''rebarreling'' the ''locking lug collar '' that screws onto the Barrel ? .Or getting some competent gunsmith to machine some New ''locking lug collars'' and have which ever ''Barrel and calibre''[you would like] within that calibre Group [30-06 head size] for own your action ? thanks for any answers thoughts or insight into this one !

I have no idea but have wondered if that was possible myself. The barrel ring is the same diameter as a large ring Mauser. You'd also need the front screw support.

I've heard that fairy tale many times - have yet to see one there.

I guess timing is everything.

I've wanted a 2nd barrel for my M66 for 15 years.

I will definitely follow this thread.

Weaver. The rear is a standard "Front" large ring mauser. The front is a flat bottom weaver made from a blank. It originally had Conetrols with 2 different height rings that had the scope too far forward.
