I'm pretty sure it can be done but would it be more cost-effective to have a new barrel chambered and fitted to my action? Also any estimates as to the cost to rebarrel for this new cartridge?
TIA!

A re-barrel with a barrel similar in quality to the one already on the gun could run about $200-$300.
If you want a good barrel (Shilen, Hart, Lilja, Douglas, Pac-Nor, Krieger, Schneider, et al.) add another $100-$200.

A re-chamber will be the easiest & cheapest way to go. I doubt it would cost more than $150 or so; while you're at it, have them re-crown the barrel for good measure.

I believe you will need an extractor change @$6 from Brownells) but this does require a gunsmith who likes pulling No1's apart.
The WSM would need the magnum extratcor I would think.

Rechamber is probably the cheapest way of seeing of you like the cartridge.
