Will 9.3 x 64 fit a standard action such as a Mark X Mauser or Model 54 winchester?

Check and see what the cartridge specs are. 64mm long should fit just fine, but it is a larger case dia, and may only fit in a magnum action.

You will need to open the head up. The base is a little larger than a 06 case but, smaller than a standard magnum. The case diameter is just a touch smaller than a standard mag as well. I don't think you will have any trouble but, because of the head you should start with a standard action.

You will need to open the box up a bit... On a Mauser I do this with a file in the rear of the box. I usually get about 50 thousands this way without weakening the box... I would replace the box and follower in the M-70 with a 375 lenth box I suspect or lenthen the oldexisting short box in the rear by welding.. Sometimes their is enough slop in the bolt faces that openning isn't necessary so check it first..If you need to open it, it will be just a little.. rail work is sometimes necessary and sometimes not in this caliber, it is just a little larger than most of our standard rounds, so you never really know what it needs until you get at it.... ------------------
