Fix for misalignment of rear Pillar Tube on Replacement stock

Tried to install my remington ADL mtn rifle into a replacement stock which has pillars. Everything looks and fits great except for a misalignment of the rear aluminum pillar tube and the rear action screw. About 1/16"of the tube covering the rear action screw hole at the 12 0'clock position(muzzle @ 12'oclock)is preventing the engagement of the rear action screw. I was told this isn't untypical due to the orientation to the tang of the rear screw (11 degrees) and the tube (90 degrees) and I should just file out the tube a little.

This is my first aftermarket synthetic installation. Has anyone had the same situation occur? Due you concur with the advice? It seems to make sense to me, but before I start filing....
Thanks

Is it a full aluminum bedding block ala HS Precision, or are they separate, stand alone pillars? I have seen this a time or two in the Bell and Carlson stocks with the full bedding blocks and with these you can simply move the hole where you need it with a drill bit. If it's a separate, stand alone pillar, you can either have the company replace the stock with one that comes closer to what you need, or, you can install a new pillar.

Its a B&C which I think has separate tubes. Anyway seems like the little it needs to go wouldn't allow for another tube to be installed.

What's to "allow"? if you want to replace that pillar, then drill it out and fit a new one. Nothing too it. But first, you might want to contact the company to see if they will send you a replacement before taking such drastic actions.

If you don't want to bother replacing the stock, and you're not too keen on replacing the pillar, then, provided there is enough aluminum material around the hole, you might first try moving the hole where you need it with a spinning drill bit. But, you have got to be very careful when going to this extreme so as not to over run the pillar, which might result in irrepairable damage to the stock.
