Can a 1910 Mex action, when being built up using a Sunny-Hill 30-06 bottom metal cut down to fit the Mex action.

Be opened up at the rear of the action, some what like when building a .375H&H on a standard 98 action?

From the 3.118 it is with stock magazine to 3.232 or 3.250?

The reason is to be able to seat a 6.5x57 with 140 or 160 gn bullets out to a slightly longer COL.I have seen some loads listed at 3.220 COL.

It's not a big deal but if it can be opened up without a lot difficulty or problems it would be worth it.

We are not trying to hot rod it, just a 140gn bullet at around 2650 to 2700fps or a 160 at around 2500fps.

Allen,
The hole spacing on the sunny hill 30/06 bottom metal is longer than on the 1910 Mexican. You would be better off buying bottom metal that fits or modifying the military and extending the box to fit.
