Savage 99 rotary mag question

When you re-install the rotary mag, do you ( and how much? ) pre-load the spring tension before installing the screw that keeps the magazine base from turning? I've got a 1/4 turn of tension on it now, and it seems to be working like it should.
But I thought I'd run this question out on the board to make sure.

Thanks
Elmo

Elmo,
1.5 to 2 turns will give you the tension you need to bring the rounds up and watch your counter it should be at 0......

Thanks Ray

I'm loading rounds today and will test fire tomorrow. I'll post some results Fri. night.

Thanks to RJS also. Lightfoot @ 24hr Campfire gave me the same advice as Ray.
