Quick survey for those who have built a 9.3x64 on a military M98 receiver: Since the CIP standard for the x64 is 3.37 inches and too long for the magazine box, which way have you approached the problem? Did you just leave the magazine as is and handload for the COAL that fit, or did you lengthen the box by that last .050†or so to allow factory ammo with any bullet to function (and give handloads some extra bullet room)? I would think lengthening the mag box a bit is the better plan, myself. Is it worth the effort?

I always thought the 9.3x64 was a drop in fit for the M98 (except for bolt face work), but I guess it requires some alteration after all.

I cheated and used a MKx box that I took a file to on both ends.

Doesn't take much to add a little extension to the front of a M98. I make mine at least 3.4 all the time.

Mine is a wildcat made from the 9.3X64 (opened up to .375 caliber).

I just used a magazine box designed for the 300 Win Mag. No other changes.

Now of course the whole concept is made utterly redundant by the 375 Ruger.
