Hi Folks, The pull of the synthetic stock on my synthetic 700ADL 270 is way too short. The gun was my son's - it was perfect when he was 13 and a tiddler, but now he is 18 and 6'2" - and he much prefers to shoot my 222 anyway. Last week I managed to find a Fajen ADL stock with over enough pull at a knockdown price. The stock looks like it can take a heavy contour, certainly heavier than the short spaghetti noodle it currently has. My thinking is to give this rifle a heavy sporter barrel and accuracy treatment so I can use it for Hunting Rifle competition. This type of discipline requires shooting at animal field targets and gongs from 50m out to 350m from different field positions. I'll get the necessary finishing work and checkering done later but my question is this: Not having a floorplate the ADL is characterised by a scutcheon buried in the stock that provides support for the front action screw. Can this scutcheon not be replaced by a complete pillar bonded to the stock that provides both support for the screw AND lets the action bottom onto it. The rear pillar will be conventional in design. Any thoughts? Cheers Pete If Chuck Norris dives into a swimming pool, he does not get wet. The swimming pool gets Chuck Norris.

Yes it can, and Daryl Holland makes a really nice set of pillars for ADL’s. They are very easy to install and are about as “fool-proof†as you can get. You can get them from him or from Brownell’s.

Noted. Thanks, I'll check it out. Festive greetings, Pete If Chuck Norris dives into a swimming pool, he does not get wet. The swimming pool gets Chuck Norris.
