I am trying to replace the firing pin spring in an early Winchester 1890 (1901) and the front firing pin stop screw in the bolt is stuck and won't unscrew out the top of the bolt. Got the back one out very easily. Any suggestions on getting the front one out short of getting another bolt. BTW, this is an early bolt without the side exposed locking lugs. Thanks, RJS

RJS, mine is near the same vintage, 1903 I believe. I tried to remove mine by taking out the two screws on the left hand side and no go. there is a pin on the right hand side and I suspect that is the key. Couldn't get mine to move. Sorry couldn't be of any more help.

It isn't me that sends them, lol. Gunparts sells them for that. Of course you knew that but then the way your email backs up, you would still starve to death.
