Whom knows??????
A questiion was brought up to me and i,ll pass it along. A friend has a Ruger 22-250 and had it chamber out to a 260 Rem. What are the dimensioins of the magazine box of the 22-250 compared to the mag box in a ruger 308? As he found the mag box to short even with the spacer out of it??van

I know that rugers lists a separate magazine and follower for the 22-250 vs the other short actions. I have no clue if it just a spacer that makes the difference or not. A quick call to Ruger should tell you.

I converted a Ruger 22-250 to 308 last year. The 22-250 box had a spacer in it. I just ordered a 308 box for a few bucks.

The 308 box will work for the 260 just fine.

How is it short? Standard OAL rounds won't fit or he can't seat his specific bullet out far enough to reach the lands. Provided the box is the same as the 308 removing the spacer should handle the first. It is not unusual in a normally chambered rifle for the box to be too short to allow the bullet to reach the lands.

I always cut the chamber to fit my magazine and intented bullet.
