Need advice / help. Acquired a sportierized 1917 Eddystone that needs the back sight wings milled off and tapped for scope. Can any gunsmith/machine shop do this ?? Any recommendations??? Also have this rifle, another enfield and a swede that need to be changed to cock on close.

Most any smith should be able to remove the ears from an enfield and drill and tap for scope.

The Eddystones were case hardened and some spot annealing with a acetylene torch may be in order, but any smith worth his salt knows that.

Brownells also sells a cock on opening conversion as well. It does require a stronger spring since often the gun will not fire after the conversion.
