I thought this was a cool idea. An old microphone stand as a support.

I use similar stands made from pipe- tripod base with a sliding height-adjustable column; I have some using tire rims as the bases, also. Useful items, like having an extra hand.

If your bench could talk, I'd love to sit and listen to the stories it could tell. I'd even bring the beer- Red Stripe, Blue Moon and Bud Light. Well, maybe not the Bud Light...
