I am looking for a very low profile detachable scope base to be added to a m48 yugo.Something along the lines of the leupold system,would be nice but they appear to be too tall when the scope is off to allow use of the sights.
Even better would be machined in spots for rings to attach.anyone know of any thing that would fit the bill?I had considered the "scout" mount bases that use the rear sight mount,but would like to see if there is anything available.

Warne makes some steel bases on the Weaver pattern. Those are low, and not very expensive.
