I saw the peice on remington underfire last night. I have carried a remington 788 for 33 years. I bought a sendero 7mm ultra mag a couple of years a go, I would like to hear fromm the gunsmiths is there really a problem. I will be hunting with my grandson soon and I do not want to spoil the time he spends with me on the range because I can't trust the rifles. I have never had a problem with them just getting your opinions.

You won't have ANY problem with the Remingtons or any other make provided you practice, demonstrate and instill safe gun handling qualities in those around you. There is nothing inherently wrong with the rifles that clear thinking and proper maintenance won't cure. If you suspect a problem, talk with the manufacturer or a competent gunsmith concerning the issue.

I read the thread on remington under fire when I first joined the site. I have just recently reconnected with the shooting world. I saw the piece on csnbc and was curious as to what yall thought. It seem I struck a nevre. I spent 25 years in Spec Ops the thing I know is that a lot of snipers think just because they can shoot they can work on guns. I drive but I still have a mechanic. The vedio of the sniper rifle looked to much like someone had turned one screw to many. I hope that this kinda sooths the nevre that I hit. I will probly ask more dumb questions in the future. Better to ask the guys that know than to remain ignorant or buy the hype of the meadia that is anti gun.
