I need to mark the barrel of my 358 Norma Mag, but the only set I can find is either 1/16" or 3/32" at Brownells. What is the normal size for caliber marking on barrels and where can I get a set?.

Eric--

Do your gun a favor and take it to a trophy shop and have them engrave the caliber with a pantograph. 1/16 inch is normal, 3/32 is normal large.

I'll second what Jack said. Engraving looks way better. Just make sure you mark where you want it for the engraver. - Dan

Gentlemen, if I may.

If you take the barrel to a trophy shop make sure you ask if the lettering will be drag (meaning scratched) or engraved (meaning cut). The drag is very shallow.

Better yet try to find a gun engraver in your area and check out his lettering ability. Nothing looks better than a well done handcut lettering job.

Good luck.

Thanks for the tips. I think I will stop by the trophy shop on the way home and see if they can do it. I want this done fairly quick, so that leaves out the gunsmith option.
