Thanks Bear, I didn't even consider a set trigger that may be the answer for instant adjustability.

Fjold- mho is correct, as ususal; you can adjust the pull weight of the Jewell trigger externally with the replacement of the springs that he mentioned in his post. I have Jewells in most of my Winchesters and my MRC1999. To make the replacement of the springs more user friendly (it is already user friendly but, I am a bit of klutz) I have a hole milled in the trigger guard to that I can insert the long end of the allen wrench into the trigger to replace the springs. I will try and take a picture of same and post for the group. It's kinda a trick I learned observing my daughter's Suhl .22 match rifle.

Fjold, I had a Jewell installed on my MRC - it is probably no more difficult than to install it on the M70 it was orginally made for. The pull weight of the Jewell can be adjusted from the outside. So getting to the adjustment should not be a problem. The adjustment range of 2oz - 2.5 lbs (if that is what the exact range is?) in a Jewell is achieved through 3 different springs. Each gives you a certain adjustment interval. From memory, the lowest spring allows adjustments from 2oz - 8 oz, the next 8oz - 1.5 lbs (I'm guessing here), etc. So, with the Jewell you have to decide on a interval that would suit you. I don't how easy that would be with your requirement of a 3lbs pull at times?? Anyway, to find out what is possible, call Jewell and figure out the real adjustment intervals. - mike
