And what's the boltface size, overall, i.e., how large can the boltface be safely cut?

I will have to check the dimensions on the cartridges you mentioned, and as I am not in the office this morning I will have to do so on Monday, but be assured I will check them out. The bolt face that is cut is a standard 223 bolt face. I will check with my guys on Monday and see what the bolt face can be opened up to safely.

Sorry about the delay. I couldn't find any pertinent information on the 5.7 x 28fn so I'm not really sure on that one. The 7.62 x 25 will probably work on the mini action if you block the box. As to the 35 Rem I talked to my gunsmith and he said that it would work on the Short better. Here are some "Prelimary" figures on length. The standard bolt face will be the .223 bolt face which is .378". We are looking at the bolt at being between .580" and .600" in diameter. And the length of the magazine box being an estimated 2.380". These are only preliminary figures, if you guys have some suggestions please let me know and I will forward them to those in charge of the design. My gunsmith said that as long as you maintain a minimum of .060" of material around the bolt face you should be okay, so grab your calipers or your cartridges of the world book and start looking at the cartridges you are interested in. Make sure when choosing cartridges to verify the type of cartridge it is. By that I mean whether it is rimmed, semi rimmed etc. Thanks and I hope this helps. If you have any other questions please let me know. Dan
