MY father has a belgium browning bought new in 1970.He says the case will not throw clear of the action unless the bolt is slammed pretty hard back.If he does it slow the case hangs there and he has to flick it out with his hand.It is a .338 win mag.He claims it has done this since it was new.Not sure if this is normal or not and I havent had a chance to look at it much to see why.I think he thinks if somebody else touches it it will not shoot as well or something.appreciate any info on this.. Thanks

That is one of the idiosyncrasies of the mauser style ejector. For clean ejection to occur, the extractor must have a good grip on the case, and the bolt has to be brought to the rear in a smart fashion to "kick" the case clear.
What to look for. Make certain that the extractor has a solid grip on the case. Bring the bolt all the way back against the bolt stop and make sure that the ejector protrudes at least .050 beyond the bolts face. Make certain that there is sufficient spring tension on the ejector so that it rides solidly against the bolts body. With a loaded magazine, check to see if there is interference between the fired case and those in the magazine.
My guess based on your description is that you've either got a short nosed ejector, or insufficient spring tension on the ejector.
