I bought a small ring 98 8mm J-bore barrel from a friend. It is off an early sporter. IT has a full length rib, is octagon, has folding sights. There is a little engraving on the receiver end. The bore is fair. Shiny with a little fine roughness, probably from corrosive ammo. There are two tenons for stock keys. The original rifle has a full length stock. Blue is about 100%

A long winded description. The question, is this barrel worth anything?

That is encouraging. I neglected to add that the bottom of the barrel is marked, "KRUPP". I did find a picture of an early manlicher, that looked like the 88 commission rifle with a very similar barrel. I guess I need to be absolutely certain of that it is threaded for. Any links to the various Mauser barrel shank dimensions?
