Need some help group, have just been given a dandy Redfild Jr. scope mount, that has a flip up peep in the rear, but I need Rings, checked Brownell's but they don't seem to carry them, any ideas on where or who mite have them, or if others would work in the base?

i think redfield is about defunct so far as new mfg rings and bases. i suspect everything around now is NOS. try ebay if you just have to have redfield rings but leupold et al that use the same arrangement have always worked interchangeably for me.

Incorrect.
Although Redfield did go through some management issues awhile back, that would of had to have been at least 5+ years ago.

They never officially went out of business or anything like that.

Redfield, Leupold, Burris, and Millett all make rings that work with the standard Redfield bases (windage adjustable rear and quarter-turn dovetail front). Be careful when mounting this type of mount. It is a very good one when mounted correctly, but many people misalign the little half-moon grooves in the rear ring. The front dovetail has 100% of the hold against recoil, so don't even try to "add strength" by overtightening the rear windage screws. I've seen many of them broken or bent.

The windage adjustment is very handy when you have a slight misalingment of the mounting holes in the receiver. The design of the front dovetail allows the front ring to swivel slightly to match any windage adjustment you may make at the rear ring.

Don't know where to get real Redfield Jr. rings, but I use Leupold rings on Redfield Jr. bases.. The Leupold is basically the same.....

Absolutely true, and this is my major complaint against them. The windage screws can vibrate loose on a long bumpy jeep ride, and you might not know it until you miss your bull elk at 75 yards on top of the mountain ("THIS HAPPENED TO ME!!")

I subsequently epoxied the left screw into the base, and used Loctite on the right one!

EL D,

These days I use dual dovetails to eliminate such carrying on. I prefer Leupold two-piece dual dovetail bases coupled with Burris signature rings (the kind with the plastic inserts).
