Direct to the page. Kinda weird. Why brass? Jason "You're not hard-core, unless you live hard-core." _______________________ Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt. Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure. -Jason Brown

Good question. Looks maybe? Or brass against brass for better feeding?

I don't get it. Seems like it would take a beating from a steel bolt and cause more friction against the brass cartridge cases. Not to mention it costs 6 times what an original milled steel follower does. Apparently it has the same dimensions. I guess if you have a hankering for the color contrast it is the ticket.

I am asking about the BRASS follower because the Mauser pictured came with a brass follower. This is a short Mod 1898

I stand corrected, Yes the short '98 Action (NOT THE RIFLE)came with a Brass or Bronze Follower, and yes it was engraved by R. L Ronnie SD.
