new_guyCarburizing Mauser
I've searched and found lots of discussion about the subject... but no reccomendations.
Who / what company can you reccomend to carbuize a Mauser?

zimbabweAre you speaking of heat treatment or color treatment? If you are speaking of color go to kilic@kilic_feinechnik.de and scroll down thru their catalog to the Color cased Mauser action. I have never seen such color work.
Another company that does it is Pacific Metal Treaters. I believe that is the same company that Thomas Burgess sends his work to.

AllenBoselyHere is Pacific'c web site.
www.pacmet.com. I think 22WRF is correct about them being where Mr. Burgess has his done.

new_guyThanks. The request was for heat treatment (not CC). Looks like Pacific will work.

vapodogIf you send your mauser to Pacmet and simply ask for the Burgess treatment, they'll know exactly what you want.
Mr Burgess treatment is actually a shallow case but he's been in the business a long time and one might do well to follow his lead.
Others have requested a much deeper carburization and seem to do well too.
