I finished fitting a B.C. stock to my Savage 112 bvss and dont know what to do with the rear guard screw. Should I drill it to accept the wood screw or cut the head off and epoxy it in the guard. The fit is nice and snug with the forward bolt in it but cant stand looking at a empty hole

I always put a screw in the hole. I will sometimes switch to a machine screw.

The stock came with no hole drilled for the screw.
do you drill and tap the guard for a machine screw? Its no problem to drill the hole , just wondering how long the threads will last in the synthetic.
