I get the Bastogne blank I spent hours looking for back, cut to fit one of the Montana actions I have on order. Richard's said they had about 100 or more orders for stocks cut on the Model 70 short action frame, glad I got the jump on it. I can get it to a custom gun builder about 30 minutes from home to finish the inletting etc., and best of all I did not have to pay you $5,000 for it [Big Grin]

I've seen some of your work, beautiful rifles, just out of my price range.

sniper, that is good news but you havent received the stock yet. You may have more work than you bargained for. I do hope it works out well for you and wish you good luck on the project. If you need any advice along the way give me a holler. It is always enjoyable to help someone that appreciates wood.

Thanks for the offer. I am thankful there is a custom gunbuilder not too far from home. His name is Herb Reiley and he does good work and the price is very reasonable for me. We try to send business his way from our shop, www.hearthstoneguns.com

When I get it, I'll just take it straight to him for the finish work, I couldn't whittle a toothpick from a twig [Smile]

I looked at your website again, great work on the rifles, I would love to have a rifle like that, my pockets just aren't that deep.

Here's a pic of a gun I had built last year, probably too extreme for your tastes but I like the way it turned out.

Sniper, what ever floats your boat as far as tastes in rifles. Remember us with some more photos when that rifle gets done.

Snipe...
Whereja git them perty silver rangs an' thet silver scope thang?? I gots to have thet set-up fer my gun, too. That stock looks like the dual-grip thumbhole. I looked at that one, but passed on it when a poster wrote that he had one, dropped it and it broke through the thin section of wood at the thumbhole. I ultimately opted for the thumbhole target model. You rod does look very good, in any event. What's that action?

Sniper,
Received my 102 classic from Richard's this week. Pretty nice overall, decent figure and color, well worth the $80.00 price.

Stock came in yesterday. It looks good, better than I remembered from the blank. I have no idea how much work will have to be done until the MRC action shows up.
