mstarlingRust bluing ... protecting the bore?
OK Guys,
How do you protect your bores while rust bluing ... or do you bother?
Thanks!

craigsterAt first I was using clear lacquer, then wooden plugs, now I don't bother.

Dall85I use plugs in shotgun barrels. The key is cleaning them and not leaving any oil.

Mauser98I used to use lacquer to coat the bore then clean it out with acetone
Now I don't bother. After the boil, the water evaporates in about a nano-second so there's no problem there.
After each carding, I run a clean patch through the bore to remove crud(using a degreased rod, of course).
