Danny Payblack star's 17-4 stainless barrels!
Hi
Well the 17-4 ph steel would be the most ultimate barrel steel ever made due to the rust and erosion restant, but i can't find more information about cost and size and availability of these barrels. i could only find that they use this steel in some of their barrels and i don't know which one and in which caliber. are there any other barrel makers using this fine steel for their barrels too?where can i find info about this?
regards
danny

Ol` JoeI`m not sure about today but, in the past Blackstar barrels were Lother Walthers with Blackstars treatment.

JustCare you talking about the Accumax barrels? if so,..these are Lothar walther barrels made from the LW50 steel,..and are internally polished by Black Star. I think the reason the steel isn't used more is due to the necessity for a carbide reamer which is ~4x the cost of a HSS reamer. I have a Blackstar accumax blank and have been trying to find someone to chamber it for me.
