That's been my experience as well.

Does anyone remember a website called "brokengun.com" from about five years ago? It was put up by a guy -- with full documentation -- who was going 'round and 'round with Browning over a Gold Rifled Deer Hunter. There was a big discussion over on alloutdoors.com about it (does anyone remember them?). It was a huge fiasco that ran for about three years or so and ultimately resulted in the manager of Browning's Arnold, Missouri service center getting shitcanned. The entire episode was just very typical of Browning and seemed to mirror some of my experiences with them (though mine never got that bad).

I know Browning occasionally sublets some of their work to Midwest Gunworks, http://www.midwestgunworks.com, though I don't know if they're any better than Browning (they certainly can't be worse). I would also recommend Simmons Gun Repair for something like this -- http://www.simmonsguns.com. Them I can recommend.

Just say NO to Browning's customer "service."

Their service reputation is so bad that I have seen it cost them many sales at a friends gun shop. I only dealt with them once and had no problem but I only bought an ambidextrous safety for a High Power. It seems
that their attitude towards customers really sucks. I wish they would change.

While learning English, the word service gave me some trouble.

Until I talked to our neighbor, and he said the bull was coming out to service the cows. I happened to be on the way to the Internal Revenue Service, at the time.... Things became crystal clear!

I called Browning once because the barrel tenon on my new Gold Fusion had developed a hairline crack. Their response was "send it in, and we'll look at it in 20 weeks". Uh-huh. Sure. FWIW, Dutch.

take a look in the back of a new gun digest. There is a listing of gunsmiths there and many of they do factory authorized service. Chances are you can get one of them to fix you up.

I have had great success with them. They even fixed problems I created at no charge. (we won't go into that)

I can also vouch for Simmons. They do great work at reasonable prices.

Bad advice. That's not an up-to-date listing. Some of -- quite a few of -- the businesses listed are no longer authorized to perform factory warranty work for the various firearms marketing/manufacturing concerns due to various reasons.

Your suggestion reminds me of the one you had chastising people for asking questions here vice seeking advice at a gun show. CLICK D LINK

Tell me, do you make your living selling old Gun Digests at gun shows?

Wow, one out of eight respondents actually recommends Browning's service center. Those are some good odds. Roll Eyes

I used to have a .410 Citori that shot 8-9" high and right with both barrels.
I called the factory and was advised to send it in, well, after several months it came back with no invoice or any explanation of any work performed, so I called them back and was told that it was tested by a 30 year employee of the company and found to be within Brownings specs and they refused to do anything about it.It would have been easy for them to fit a new set of barrels and have a happy customer, they chose not to. I bought it new in the box, it was never dropped or mis handled and it was obvious that the barrels weren't straight.
I asked why a K-Mart single, purchased for $75, shot where I was looking and my $1,050 Browning didn't, he said he couldn't explain that.
Yes, Brownings customer service SUCKS! The only service I got was similar to what the cows got from the bull.

I bought a barrel at Rosen Brothers they said it would interchange with my other barrel no problem.

I put it on shot it and split the forend went back to Rosen Brothers they said it wasnt there fault that Browning had told them it was interchangeable. I sent a check to Browning for a new Jap Forend to go on my Belgum auto 5 they sent me the forend and I got a call from them. They said they had not read my letter. They talked to me for about 30min at there cost and sent me my money back for the cost of my forend.

I have had no further dealings as far as sending anything else back.

I don't know if this qualifies as service but, I wanted a CR boss for my son's 7-08 a-bolt. I bought it before one was supplied with the brake version.

I ordered it from the Browning dealer where I bought the gun. It became a standing joke when I'd show up there, nope no CR boss yet, still backordered! Confused This went on for 2.5 years! Mad I even talked to an employee of Browning at the DU festival here in Oshkosh,(while volunteering at the shooting village), he remembered the order crossing his desk, promised to find out about it and expedite it. Yeah, right!

A buddy that also volunteered there got to talking to a service executive from Browning. He even gave him his business card in case he needed any of his guns worked on. He loaned me his card, I e-mailed him, explaning my dillemma. I got an answer in 1.5 hours, saying heads would roll, I should look for a package in 3 days, no charge. Viola, 3 days later UPS showed up with the CR boss! He apparently casts a long shadow at Browning, a CR boss shoed up like majic at the gunshop I originally ordered it from! Eeker Now the shop owner is pissed, he has something he can't sell!
