I am thinking about recutting the chamber on my 30-06 R93 to either 300 H&H or 358 Norma.

Has anyone had Cliff Labounty rebore a Blaser R93?

The folks at Blaser spend a lot of time telling everyone how they have special metal and it's heat treated to some wierd formula. I found at that it is mostly BS, so I want to give it a shot to get a caliber I don't already have. I am either going to use my 30-06 or buy a used 270. I hate 270s it would be wonderful to have a 270 that had been violated.

IMHO it's a very bad idea. The Blaser barrel and chamber is produced by hammer forging - that's right the chamber too.

Hammer forging can produce stressed barrels, obviously Blaser does something to counter this as their barrels are amazingly accurate. Start removing metal from them and you have recipe for disaster. Besides I've heard this gent takes an age....

I would not be at all surprised if a European specialist didn't make replacement barrels.

Isn't 300win mag available or 8x68?
