What do you use to stop this on a 44 Bisley Vaquero. It does it on every other shot when using 300gr bullets. [ 10-26-2002, 08:19: Message edited by: Brent Moffitt ]

Install a Belt Mountain base pin. You can get them from Brownells. [ 10-26-2002, 09:50: Message edited by: waxman ]

Thanks guys. I noticed on my brothers FA 475's pin there is a set screw in the pinhead itself, but couldn't see if it screws into a slot or hole that would need to be added to the Bisley, or is it just a install and on your way type deal with no flat or hole to be added to seat on? I shot his 475 with some 325gr hardcasts over 33gr H110 and it is sweet, sweet. The rechambered 475LB Super Redhawk is figgin PAINFULL! We shot 85 rounds in the 4 5/8" FA and the 3 I shot in the Ruger hurt more that all those in the FA. I hate that gun! I is very accurate though. Thanks for all the help.

Bowen Classic Arms sells one similar to the one on a FA. However, you would need to drill a blind hole under the barrel and then grind the screw to an appropiate lenght so it would recess into the hole. The cylinder pin body also needs to be surface ground and the pin holes on the frame may need to be trued a little to accomodate the pin precicesly. It looks like a very simple operation but if not done right it could cause problems. The Belt Mountain unit is good for a 44 Mag or a 45 Colt but I would not recommmend it for a hard kicker. Good luck!
