Good News for all of you Short Action enthusiasts!
The first shipment of short actions (Stainless Steel, Right Hand, Magnums) has arrived (10/10/03) and they look FANTASTIC!!!!! We are expecting to receive 50-100 of these per week so we should have 1 or 2 shipments coming in next week. For those of you that have Standards or Chrome Moly they are being machined as I am writing this.
As to the LEFT HANDED Short and Long actions we are waiting for the machined samples (second go-around) to come in and expect them within the next week or so. Once we have verified that the machining is correct, we will turn Pinetree loose on them and get them going. Won't be long now.

Hey Dan,
In referance to your statement about left-handed short actions:
"Once we have verified that the machining is correct, we will turn Pinetree loose on them and get them going."

What was the time from when you turned Pinetree loose on the right handed magnum short actions, until now?

I'm just trying to get e feel for what "Won't be long now." means.

Fjold: It's not directly related. Pinetree could bury the machining center in castings in short order. I've seen Pinetree (Ruger) deliver a run of castings in eleven days. However, if the shop is still working through the process to properly machine them, it would make no sense to turn Ruger loose.

Remember, once Ruger makes the castings, they expect to be paid.

The guys working on the LH shorts and longs are one of the best houses in the country. I suspect their learning curve will be short and steep.

No big hurry, I'm going out of the country at the end of the month again and I'd hate for my FFL holder to deliver it to the house when Wifezilla's there. It's better (for me) if she doesn't know about some of these things.

We shoudn't have to worry about paying Pinetree, I paid six months ago!

So true, but I doubt that MRC would like to have to pay Pinetree twice - once for a cast that was machined incorrectly, and once again for a cast to set things right. I severely doubt MRC has that kind of slack in their price calculation.

I got a call from them the other day about my PH order and the lady on the phone said Dan was no longer with them. I didn't ask particulars as its none of my business but the guy I spoke to (Scott)said they would begin shipping short actions this week.

I wonder what happened to Dan? Just another thing to cause me to wonder if I will actually ever have the two actions I paid for in my hands or not. What the heck is going on over there? Not much in the way of boosting confidence.

I guess the person to ask is Scott Zimmerman. He seemed well informed and very customer oriented. If they're short handed without Dan I can understand why they don't keep up with us posters (although I do think it spoke well of them to make the effort). If no one reports receiving an action by week's end I'll call again.

I was on the phone with Scot yesterday. Didn't even think to ask about delivery dates. Duh...

Emails I have received state that magnums will start shipping in early November, standards in mid-November.

If you're really worried, call MRC: (406)755-4867

Hey Dan, rumour had it you had left MRC, so it is indeed good to see you back! (Unless, of course, this is Scot logging in under Dan's account [Roll Eyes] ). So what was all this about, you were supposed to have left MRC, and here you are, alive and well (thank God!). Maybe you'd better loose a few words to set the record right, some of your customers were getting a tad worried...

Ah, seems like the issue of Dan's "demise" was greatly exaggerated! The thread "Dan's Return" clears it all up. We are all happy campers! [Wink]

Yes, 18 down, lots more to go. But we are expecting more either this week or very early next. Don't worry, everyone will receive theirs before they know it!

Dan, sounds like you have a lot of expectant Fathers in the waiting room. I too have an order in for a .300Wsm and can hardly wait for it to be sent to Lone Wolf for stocking. Is there a way I can see the number assigned to me? Take care and thank you for your commitment to service.

Begoode,
You are absolutely correct in your assumption. There are a lot of expectant fathers out there and we are working hard on making the delivery as painless as possible.
You should give us a call about the serial number. If you ordered after the "Charter Issue" program we quit assigning serial numbers once that program was finished. But if you got in before the end of it then let us know and we'll track your serial number down.

Sniper,
I just looked at your Short Actions. Guess the only hold up on yours is that we are waiting for your FFL to get here and then they are out the door.
