Is the shoulder angle alittle steeper on the standard 7x57 than on the .30-06 or .308 standard cases? And what is it's angle? Is the standard .257 roberts of the same angle as the parent 7x57 case? What is the powder capacity of the 7x57 even with the bottom of the neck as compared with same for .308 and .300 savage? Why does sharpening the shoulder angle supposed to help in velocity production? Thanks, JK.

According to my old Hornady handbook the:

7x57 20 degrees 45 minutes

3006 17 " 16 "

308 20 " 0 "

257R 20 " 45 "

The shoulder angle of both the 7x57 & the 257 Roberts is 20 degrees 45 minutes. The 257's parent case is the 7x57. Steeper angles combined with less body taper are supposed to generate more efficient powder ignition/burn. Don't have the watervolumns maybe someone else can help out here.
