Would it be realistic to use a EER scope to retain the original safety on a VZ24 or am I better off just swapping in a Gentry? Thanks, John

i think you're approaching it backwards as depends on what you want the rifle for. if you want a scout type rifle or just like the looks/balance of EER's they yes you can retain the original safety. and i realize i'll be in left field here but they don't bother me at all. however, replacement safeties are cheap (all current fashion aside, you don't have to have a winchester m70 type safety for it to still be a perfectly acceptable rifle) so working the scope around the safety is kinda false economy. the mausers i make for myself w/ open sights i leave the GI safety as is and am perfectly happy. 'course i also like the 2-stage trigger pull once worked over a little so what do i know.

It is not the money or the 3-pos I just like the original.. I guess I will try it out after I get it back from surface grinding then decide. Thanks, John

Id just get a 3 position, 2 postion, or a wing safty like a Williams and use a regular scope. but you will have to turn the bolt down. Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com

I might add that if you use an eer scope you probably don't need to grind the action as they can be barrel mounted right... Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com
