Have a 1909???, hinged bottom metal, and would like to have some idea of value. The metal is solid----no rust, or unsightly markings.
Would need just a polish and finish for custom use.
Thanks,

they need more than just a polish and "finish" for true custom use.

They should have a new release button, and they should have a straddle floor plate. Plus they look better if they also have some reshaping of the trigger guard.

Adding a knurled button is a nice. Touch I like the shape of the original floor plates over the straddle type most of the time. Especially on lith rifles.

FISH!!

Heed the words of Winston Smith in Orwell's 1984:

"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right."

I am w/ you on the straddle floor plate, Fish.
I'm thinking custom is in the eye of the viewer.
