I have the chance to get a model70 black shadow for a good price. The trouble is I hate plastic stocks, and it has a blind magazine.

The question is, can I get a standard wood stock to drop the barreled action into. And, if I do that what will I need to make the magazine work. Do I just need a guard and floor plate or what?

I'm sure this is a little below all of your talents, but any help for a "bubbasmith" would be great.

I haven't taken apart a blind mag model 70, but worst case you may need a mag box too.

Yes, it should work just fine. I've done it using the shadow magazine with the wood stock. You can order the floorplate and guard from Winchester, or get one from Williams.
