Any one have any ideas what may be wrong? The rifle will fire, eject and load the next round, but the bolt will not go back far enough to cock the hammer. I have cleaned everything and even tried a couple types of different ammo.

Thanks

This rifle has a hammer?

Or are you refering to the striker/fireing pin?

Are yo saying the sear is not holding the firing pin back?

Or the bolt is not coming back far enough to engage the tigger sear to the fring pin?

What model does it have the old style trigger or the newer accurate trigger?

p dog shooter

This is an older model semi auto made in the 60's. The bolt is not coming back far enough to engage the tigger sear to the fring pin.

Thanks

I found it the gun parts catolog and I see what they call the hammer.

I am wondering if the recoil plug insert got screwed in to far or the release lever or spring is defective.

If you don't find broken parts look for loose pins ect.
