Does anyone know where I could get an exploded drawing/patrs break down for a Mdl. 100 Winchester? A guy at work asked me if I knew how to take the action out of the stock. He just bought a Mdl. 100 in .243 and someone had tried to refinish the stock. He wants to remove the action to strip and refinish the stock. If anyone knows where to get a drawing or how to remove the action, your help would be appreciated. TIA.

Getting the action out is only a problem if you try to take it apart with the bolt closed. Pull the action screws, put the clip in, open the action, and it comes apart without much trouble. If you keep the chamber clean, most of the extraction problems go away. With the price collectors pay these days, not many around here are shot or hunted with. Roger
