I thought that Rugers used a modified controlled feed. I now feed mine singly from the magazine. Peter.

Well, if it is "modified controled round feeding" it's the only Ruger I've ever owned, out of dozens, that won't feed single rounds???

I think there is a burr holding things up or some rough spot somewhere that needs smoothing. I agree with you Bobby that the Rugers are designed to single feed. The extractor hook has quite a bit of angle and/or bevel cut onto it , compared to M-70 s or Mausers .

I think you misunderstand, Geronimo, I've owned far more than a dozen Rugers, owned a gun shop for 15 years, and this is the first Ruger, as far as I can remember that would not feed single rounds. It's no big problem, just curiosity. The Ruger is a modified Mauser, as is the Model 70 and should feed singly. It is designed to feed a single round, whereas the original Mauser is not.
