Remington bolt action system for privat customer

Hello
I hope I'm right here to ask me question. I would like to built up a new varmint rifle. As I'm a left hand shooter in Europe you rarely get lefthand actions. There are some actions on the market, but the companies (Heym, Sako, Sauer) do not offer the actions alone to non-dealer customers, and if the do, the price in horrible high. Ok, my question is, if there is a possibility to get a Remington bolt action from Remington or from a dealer. Hope my English is good enough that you understant my intention.

R_93,

Brownells is now selling Remington 700 short actions but I don't know if they offer the left hand actions or not. Try

www.brownells.com

R_93,

I'm a left-handed shooter, too. Brownells sells right-hand actions for more than the cost of a new complete rifle, here. The best bet is to buy a rifle and discard or sell what you don't need. Even if you can't sell any of it, it is cheaper.

For right-handed guys it is less expensive, because they can find a used rifle cheap and can build on that action.

I am left handed also. Sorry to tell you but your only option is to buy a complete left hand rifle, no one that I know of sells the actions only.

You can buy a left hand Remington Varmint rifle already made from Remington:

http://www.remington.com/firearms/left_hand/700VSLH.HTM

This is the only one with a bolt face small enough to handle the .223 Remington cartridge. They also sell the slightly less expensive Model 700 BDL model with a long or short action, but only for cartridges with the .473 inch bolt face such as .243, .308 and so forth.

For a used rifle you can look in www.gunbroker.com and www.auctionarms.com. Type in "left hand" or "lh" in the Search window and you can usually find used rifles of all kinds.

Viel Gluck!

@ all
Thanks a lot for the detailed answers. Regarding "Montana Rifleman" actions was my lastest information, that the going to produce a left hand action if enough customers subscribe and send money in advance. You may understand that I'm not the "Deutsche Bank" or so and my business is not financing other. But does anybody has heard something about the quality of the actions?
Another point are the custom actions like Stolle or Nesika Bay. But they are realy expensive. I guess the best advice is to import a new or used rifle and rebuilt it to my owne ideas.
PS: Does anybody has a hint where to get Remington rifles for low price?? The only adress I know is dnrsports, are there remarkable alternatives??
